15below recently welcomed Paul Stovell, Chief Executive of deployment specialist Octopus Deploy, to its Brighton headquarters and highlighted the benefits of working with the world’s most popular deployment automation server provider.
Software developers at 15below, which provides innovative passenger communications technology for the travel industry, have been using the Octopus platform since 2012. It allows them to deploy code as soon as possible, enhancing the service offered to customers and ensuring they can work in a fast and efficient manner.
Mark Harrison, Architect at 15below, says: “Developers are often forced to spend much of their time on set-up work, but with Octopus Deploy the majority of set-up is automated. It means our team can focus their attention on what they are most passionate about - developing innovative, industry-leading tech.
“Prior to adopting the platform, we had to rely on manual deployments, but the move to Octopus Deploy allowed us to work more effectively and efficiently.
“It was great to welcome Paul to our office to pick up some of his tips and tricks, discuss our changing requirements and consider future capabilities as 15below continues to grow. Our customers often ask us to reduce downtime and Paul was able to see how utilising his solution is one of several ways in which we aim to achieve this.
“The features and usability of the Octopus system have been developed quickly and reliably in recent years and it has provided tremendous value to our business. We have upgraded our Tentacles using Hydra and will continue to work with Octopus to find new ways to streamline our deployments.”
15below was one of Octopus Deploy’s first customers after Mr Stovell founded the company in 2012. He visited the Brighton office from his Australia base to see how his product is used and to discuss further improvements to the platform.
Mr Stovell explains: “Benefits of using Octopus Deploy include the ability to run predictable and repeatable deployments, simple scaling and increased simplicity in managing machines.
“I am delighted to have been able to see it in person at 15below and to experience the difference it has made to developers on the ground. We have some exciting plans in place to ensure we stay ahead of the market in the coming years.”
15below was founded in Brighton in 2000 and currently works with more than 50 of the world’s largest airlines. It is committed to staying ahead of the latest technological trends and inspiring smoother passenger journeys through advanced communications solutions.
15below is currently recruiting developers and has a range of other vacancies both at its Brighton base and at its offices in Sydney, Australia and Vilnius, Lithuania. Anybody interested in joining the team should visit 15below.com or email [email protected].
