Keeping up with the CDC’s data collection and contact tracing orders

* This blog post previously included information about a change to the CDC's contact tracing requirements which said that passengers had to declare if they had recently travelled within a number of African countries. Since 30 November, due to the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced an emergency amendment to its Attestation order – this will be the 3rd version of the form since it was originally mandated back in January (you can see all the requirements here.) 

Reducing the time required for a “Negative Pre-Departure test”

On December 4, the CDC announced an emergency update to the Attestation order, which became effective on December 6.

In this version of the Attestation form, the CDC took the opportunity to re-design the form, changing sections and references which relate to each other, as well as reducing the pre-flight viral “Negative Pre-Departure test” requirement from three to one calendar day before the flight’s departure.

Changes to the Attestation have been reflected in the 15below CDC Attestation and Contact Tracing data collection solution via updates to the:

• API
• Confirmation notifications.
