15below: On the path to carbon neutral
We're committed to working more sustainably and our partnership with Auditel will help us to achieve Carbon Neutral status.
We do a lot of exciting projects at 15below, both with our customers and internally – after all, we’re a group of people who thrive on challenge, progression and continuous improvement, so we like to keep things interesting. Our recent formal commitment to working more sustainably is no exception and it’s something that we all feel passionately is the right thing to do for ourselves and the planet.
Everything we do is built for travel: we’ve been helping our customers and their passengers to manage day-to-day logistical nightmares caused by travel disruption for over 20 years. In recent years, the global airline industry has really ramped up its focus on reducing carbon emissions with an overall aim of getting to Net Zero by 2050.
Everyone in the industry must play their part in a collective approach to this enormous challenge. And while our part may seem small, we know it’s vital that we reduce our Carbon Footprint as much as possible if we are going to support our industry in reaching this goal.
No one at 15below is comfortable with doing the bare minimum just to look good and we’re not prepared to ‘greenwash’ to avoid our sustainability responsibilities either. So, at the end of 2022, we partnered with Auditel to help us navigate our carbon neutral journey and support us in meeting our ambitious plans to achieve BSI Verified Carbon Neutral to PAS 2060.
We’re currently in the ‘carbon inventory’ phase of the project and it’s fascinating to see our value chains mapped and data analysed across Scopes 1,2 and 3. By the end of Spring this year, we will have a credible and accurate view of where we are via our Carbon Footprint Report and will be able to plan our next steps on the journey.
We look forward to updating you when we reach the next phase of this exciting project.
