Following the completion of our hugely successful two-year partnership with mental health charity Mind, during which we raised £10,000, we’re now thrilled to announce that 15below will now be supporting not one, but four brand new charities!
Each of our teams in Brighton, Vilnius and Sydney were asked to select a local charity they want to fundraise for in 2019-20 and here are the results:
Brighton office – Brighton Housing Trust
Brighton Housing Trust worked with 1,113 people last year, 1,089 of whom were rough sleepers. Through its First Base Day Centre, it managed to find accommodation for 222 vulnerable people, while supporting hundreds of others with complex needs in areas such as mental health and addiction.
Sydney office – Dandelion Support Network
Dandelion Support Network works to ensure all babies and children have access to nursery items essential for their safety, wellbeing and development. It was founded by two mothers who spotted an opportunity to support community services groups in helping vulnerable families. The organisation is run by volunteers who accept, sort and safety check pre-loved nursery equipment and children’s clothes before distributing them in local hospitals and support agencies.
Darom (World Clean-Up Day) is based on the principles of community. It carries out activities designed to prevent national problems and our team will be involved in cleaning up the city of Vilnius.
Jaunimo Iinija (Youth Line) is a free emotional support phone and online service. Lithuania has the highest rate of suicide in Europe but its volunteers are effectively reducing the number by promoting tolerance and understanding.
We’re all thrilled to be supporting such fantastic causes over the next couple of years and look forward to putting the ‘fun’ into fundraising together!
